Will medical insurance cover cost of rehab?

Most medical insurers will offer some cover for treatment, both as part of a residential programme and for out-patient counselling. This is, of course, dependent on the policy level and type of policy that you have. We can advise you more specifically when you call us.

Can I get free addiction treatment?

Free alcohol addiction treatment with the NHS is available – and there are a wide range of services. Some are residential, some are non-residential. There are also charities that provide drug and alcohol treatment at low or no cost.

As we are a private service, we are unable to refer into NHS or charitable facilities. If you would like to access these routes, please contact your GP or your local Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) – there is a team for each area of the UK, a Google search will provide the details for your area.

How much does rehab cost?

All of our centres are private clinics. The cost varies greatly according to a number of factors, including the type of  treatment programme offered and environment. Clients must be able to pay for treatment themselves, or be funded by a family member, employer or other supporting person. Some private medical insurers (such as BUPA) offer cover for residential treatment.

Mid range prices are between £2250 and £2600 per week. High end prices (which are generally luxurious facilities with private rooms/private chefs/chauffeurs/spa etc) start from around £4000 per week.

Paying less money does not mean receiving less of a treatment service. Prices range due to location and facilities and are designed to accommodate individuals with certain requirements (very much in the way that hotels offer such a wide range of options).

In some instances, clients who have been offered funding through their local drug and alcohol services may be able to access treatment at one of the treatment centres and we can advise on this.

When you call, we will talk you through the full range of options. There is no obligation, you are welcome to call us and discuss the options available and we will be able to give you precise programme costs and all the information on what these costs include.

Do I have to pay you?

Our service (which is our telephone advice and our telephone assessment) is free to you, to your family, to any healthcare professionals. There is no obligation and you will be given the advice and support that is appropriate to your own individual situation.  Once you have spoken to us, and if you decide that you are ready to access treatment, we will tell you the cost of this treatment, what this includes, and all the details about the process. We will discuss this with your family member or friend if this is what you would prefer.

Can my family visit me in rehab?
Treatment centres all have their own visiting policies. It is likely that family will not be able to visit for the first week of treatment, while the client settles into the programme – although families are most welcome to call the centres as often as they like to receive updates, pass on messages and be reassured as to progress. Generally, after the first week,  times for visiting will be at weekends – although some centres offer more flexibility. Telephone calls between clients and families will usually be in the evenings, as the days are very busy with the programme. Families and loved ones are encouraged to take an active part in family programmes that are offered by treatment centres.
Visiting and contact is structured this way to ensure that the programme and recovery are carefully supported and that the daily programme is the focus of the clients’ time in the centre.
Please be reassured – if the client is determined that they wish to contact a relative, or that they wish to leave the programme, this will be managed and supported by the treatment centre. No one is kept in treatment against their wishes (treatment doesn’t work unless someone is ready to engage with the programme) and if discharge is requested, this will be managed safely and appropriately.
Will I get into trouble if I ask for drug addiction treatment?
Concerned about admitting your drug problem? Please don’t be. Seeking help or treatment for an addiction is encouraged by all organisations, including the government who have an ongoing campaign that raises awareness. Recognising a problem and taking active steps to help yourself is the best outcome for you and for those around you. Call us in confidence – we understand, we care, we’re here to help.
How can I find the right rehab?

We believe that finding the right rehab is more than just finding the one closest to your home. There are a number of rehab centres available and each has its own distinguishing features and specialities. We are committed to finding the right rehab centre for you or your family member. Our advice will be based on the discussion we have over the phone. Once we’ve assessed your needs, we’ll talk to you about the options available – and our recommendation of the best centre for you. If you agree and wish to proceed, we will make all the arrangements for you. We can even arrange transfers from any UK mainland address and escorts for overseas transfers.

How long does rehab take?

The length of time that the person might stay in rehab varies, but generally a programme will be for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Shorter term, detox only programmes are available in some treatment centres and although helpful, this will not offer the best chance for long term recovery. It is appreciated that this may seem a long time to be away from responsibilities,  but when consideration is given to how long the addiction has been a problem it is really a very short period of time. It can be the beginning of a complete transformation and the client must be ready to accept that they are worth that time and that they owe it to themselves to make that step.

For those who feel that they cannot be away from work commitments, we also offer places at a clinic that actively supports business people and personalities who need to maintain contact and ongoing oversight of business interests. Please call us for more information.

Can I get a place at rehab today?

The simple answer is yes. This may depend on some factors, but these will largely be around your own circumstances. We have clinics that will admit clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so as long as we have a bed available in a suitable clinic, admission can be arranged very quickly. The decision to try and get a place at rehab is often the culmination of much soul searching and family intervention. The last thing that you need now is a prolonged period of waiting. This is why our phone lines are open 24 hours a day, ready to offer calm, caring support from highly trained and knowledgeable team – who will help guide you through the process.
