Treatment in Edinburgh

Detox

Residential treatment will start with a short period of detox, to cleanse yourself of the addiction and provide a ‘clean slate’ to commence your programme of recovery. The length of detox will vary from patient to patient, but the process will be completely focussed on serenity and relaxation and will be closely overseen by a caring therapist who will be there 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet your needs.

Treatment Plan

Once detox has finished you will start on your programme of recovery, which again will vary amongst patients and can be discussed and agreed with your therapist. Many patients benefit greatly from one-to-one counselling sessions, while others enjoy creative activities and learning mood management techniques – every patient is different. All programmes will be focussed on ensuring the greatest chance of recovery for each and every patient.

Aftercare

The team at Priority offers a first rate aftercare programme, helping to support you in the days, weeks and months following rehab, when patients are back in the ‘real world’, away from residential care. Follow up care can include meetings, telephone calls and Skype chats as well as recommended ‘top-up’ residential visits where necessary.

Family Programme

The family and loved ones of addiction sufferers can often be the forgotten victims of the situation. At Priority we believe in addressing their feelings and concerns and helping the people around you to understand addiction and support you in your recovery. We will help them to overcome feelings of guilt, remorse or responsibility in order to move forward and assist you in your recovery. Future planning is one of the most successful components in recovery and we believe in including your nearest and dearest in the process.

FAQs

Can my family visit me during my residential stay?

We encourage family visits. The only time when this may be limited is in the initial detox period when patients need to completely focus on the task at hand and avoid stressful or emotional situations. However, thorough updates will be given to family members upon the patient’s agreement.

Is addiction treatment in Edinburgh expensive?

While free addiction services are available on the NHS, at Priority we believe in the need to start treatment immediately after seeking help and to tailor your plan, accommodation and location to meet your individual needs, which is why we would recommend paying a weekly fee to receive private treatment where you can take control of your recovery process and give yourself the best shot at success.

Prices vary between individual cases, but do include food, drinks, a choice of comfortable accommodation types and treatment.
